The EPCOT International Flower and Garden Festival runs from March 1 to May 29, 2017 at EPCOT at Walt Disney World.
EPCOT is especially beautiful during the Festival- as There are lots of beautiful topiaries throughout the EPCOT including, Beauty and the Beast in France, Peter Pan and Tinkerbell in the United Kingdom, Bambi and friends in Canada, Lady and the Tramp in Italy, Anna and Elsa in Norway, and many many more!
Another feature of the Festival are the musical performances, which are included with a standard EPCOT park admission. Some of the 2017 line up includes: Dennis DeYoung, The Pointer Sisters, Plain White T’s, Little River Band, Night Rangers, Gin Blossoms, and more! These concerts happen on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and Mondays at 5:30pm, 6:45pm and 8:00pm. Be sure to check the official times guide for more information.
One of the major themes at EPCOT has always been education. The Festival explores the connection between what we eat, and where it comes from.
Which brings me to the delicious part of this festival – the food. There are 15 outdoor kitchens this year. There are two new booths this year – The Berry Basket and the Northern Bloom. The new booth that I’m most excited about is The Berry Basket.
The Berry Basket menu features: Lamb chop with Quinoa Salad and Blackberry Gastrique; Field Greens with fresh Strawberries, Blue Cheese, Strawberry Vinaigrette and Spice Pecans; and a Warm Wild Berry Buckle with Pepperberry Sorbet. THe Drink menu includes: Founders Raubeaus Pure Raspberry Ale; Island Grove Blueberry Moscato; Twinings® Green Tea Berry Mint Julep.
If you’re going with your friends, take note of the following facts to impress your travel-mates! Throughout the park, there are nearly 30 million blooms featured at the Festival. More than 100 beautiful topiaries on display. There are more than 1000 native butterflies from 10 species at the Butterfly house.
Want to take home a keepsake from this fantastic event? You’re in luck! There is official Festival merchandise. You can pick up lots of items featuring the Festival logo, including shirts, mugs, pins, etc, they have something for everyone! One place you can do this is The Festival Center – which is in the former Wonders of Life pavilion. Many people say that visiting to Walt Disney World during the International Flower and Garden Festival is their second favorite time to visit the park, following the International Food and Wine Festival.
If you go to the Festival, I hope you have a wonderful experience. Be sure to share your photos and experiences of the event on social media- and use the official event hashtag #FreshEPCOT.
